Steve Borthwick will reportedly remain in charge of England with the Rugby Football Union '100 per cent' behind the head coach.
England suffered a fourth consecutive defeat against Australia at the weekend with growing calls for Borthwick to be dismissed.
They've now lost six of 10 Tests in 2024 and face a tricky test this weekend at Twickenham against world champions South Africa.
A loss against either Japan or South Africa before the end of the year would see Borthwick end 2024 with the same record that saw Eddie Jones sacked in 2022.
Steve Borthwick has come under pressure as England boss
ReutersSir Clive Woodward has called their current losing streak 'unacceptable', but it appears as though Borthwick's job is safe no matter what happens on the weekend.
According to the Telegraph, the RFU are '100 per cent' behind Borthwick and have no plans to look for a new head coach.
Senior figures in the RFU reportedly feel Borthwick remains the best man for the job, but the report adds they will review the position in the winter.
England captain Jamie George has attempted to take the pressure off Borthwick by calling on the players to step up and bring an end to their losing streak.
“[We have] the utmost belief, we’ve just got to go out there and execute,” George said.
“I think the players have got to hold their hands up in this situation.
"We were very clear on the game plan, we didn’t put that out on the field. There’s only so much the coaches can do in that respect.
“What I loved about the Ireland week is that the players made sure that we grabbed hold of it and ran it and drove it.

"We have been doing that so far but maybe we need to step that up.
"I promise you I’m not just saying we believe in what we’re doing for the sake of the media, I genuinely believe in what we’re doing.”
Speaking after the match against Australia, Borthwick criticised the number of mistakes his side made in the match.

Jamie George has jumped to the defence of Steve Borthwick
PA"It's tremendously disappointing and gutting," Borthwick said.
"When you make that number of errors, seven handling errors and I think there were 20 turnovers [sic: 19] in total, you give the opportunity to the opposition to run in space and score tries and they did.
"I don't think we gave our defence the opportunity to be in the right position to go. If you give them the opportunity of turning balls over and the game gets that loose, it is very difficult to get your defence set.
"There were a number of times where tries were scored too quickly off the back of a turnover ball or a loose ball and we have to be better than that and not put ourselves in that position."
