Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll have filed for divorce just days before the start of the PGA Championship.
The filing in a Florida court comes seven years after the couple married in 2017.
The reason for the split remains unknown, according to TMZ.
McIlroy's team confirmed the news in a statement, adding: "Rory's desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible.
"He won't be making any further comment."

In 2015, the golf star proposed to Stoll in Paris, France.
The couple has largely chosen to keep their private life away from the public eye.
The split comes just two days after the Northern Irishman won the Wells Fargo Championship for the fourth time on Sunday.

McIlroy is among the favourites to win the PGA Championship at Valhalla, Kentucky - which kicks off in just three days.
The 35-year-old previously revealed he has got his sights set on winning another major.
He said: "I've been sort of banging this drum for the last few years, but I'm a way better player now than I was back then.
