A former Netherlands international footballer has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stabbing his cousin.
Quincy Promes, who plays for Russian club Spartak Moscow, was arrested in December 2020 concerning an incident which happened in July that year.
The court found Promes guilty of assault but not of attempted murder or manslaughter charges, according to ESPN.
His lawyer says he will appeal, according to Dutch broadcaster RTL.

He must pay €7,000 [£5,973] in compensation to the victim.
Promes is also being prosecuted in the Netherlands for alleged involvement in drugs trafficking.
He is allegedly involved with smuggling 1,360 kilograms of cocaine to the Netherlands or Belgium in two shipments in 2020.
The footballer, who formerly played for Ajax, denied the charges but the court found there was enough evidence from two eyewitnesses and intercepted phone conversations to give a prison term.
The 31-year-old stabbed his cousin in the leg at a family party at a warehouse in Abcoude after Promes got into an argument over a stolen necklace.
He was playing in the Netherlands for Ajax at the time but moved to Spartak in February 2021.
The judge condemned Promes for not coming to the court to defend himself or expressing any remorse - his sentence would have been six months less had he done so.
The forward remains in Russia and it's unclear whether he will return to the Netherlands to serve his prison sentence.
There is no extradition agreement between Russia and the Netherlands, and it can only be requested if Promes fails with his appeal, according to NOS.

Due to the drug trafficking allegations, Promes would be arrested if he sets foot in Europe or any country with an extradition treaty with the Netherlands.
The Amsterdam-born footballer played 50 times for the Dutch national team, scoring seven goals.
Starting his career at Twente, he spent four-years with Spartak between 2014 and 2018 before signing for Spanish club Sevilla.
He then spent a season-and-a-half with Ajax before returning to Spartak. He has scored 37 goals in 74 games for the club during his second spell.
