The couple have been dating since September last year

Travis Kelce is reportedly 'desperately trying to console Taylor Swift' after it was revealed a recent terror plot planned for one of her Vienna tour dates was foiled.

The couple have been dating ever since September, with Swift cheering on her boyfriend as he won the Super Bowl earlier this year.

Swift had been due to perform in front of a huge 170,000 fans on August 8, 9, and 10 at Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.

However, she was forced to cancel all three shows after a terror plot threatening to 'claim as many lives as possible' was foiled - with two teenagers, aged 17 and 19, arrested.

According to the Daily Mail, Kelce is acting as a 'shoulder' for Swift to lean on at such a difficult time.

An insider is quoted as saying: "All Travis can do right now is be an ear and a shoulder for Taylor as he knows she and her team have things handled to the best of their abilities.

"Any available moment he has to spend with her, he will.

"She was there for him during the shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs' victory parade and unfortunately with these latest circumstances, he will be there for her – but he won't be given any extra time off as the season starts in a month and KC is looking to three-peat."

Kelce is currently training with the Kansas City Chiefs as the start of the NFL season approaches, with the team looking for another Super Bowl triumph.

The insider says Swift has 'accepted' that she's a target due to her huge reputation, with the 34-year-old arguably the biggest pop star on the planet.

But she's still determined to perform in London later this month.

They added: "Taylor knows she is a target and that is something she has accepted.

"She refuses to let this dampen what this tour has meant to her.

"She is still going to live her life and is looking forward to her London shows and being at KC games this season.

"This has shown them both what is important in life, and this is a wake-up call that if they were ever feeling petty about anything, they should stop and realise what great things they have and just enjoy life to the fullest."

Swift's remaining five shows at London's Wembley Stadium from August 15 to August 20 will go ahead.

Another insider says Swift is 'really shaken', while the UK government are prepared to pull the plug on her shows if they believe there is a threat.

"Taylor is really shaken by this because she realised how open and unguarded she is while on stage," they said.

"And it is quite concerning to everyone in London where she is performing in one week because of the fact that Ariana Grande's 2017 concert in Manchester was bombed.

"The UK government is assessing the situation and if there is any chance of anyone being in danger, they will pull the plug on shows.

"There is already chatter among ticket holders of fears for safety and some feel that Taylor should pull the plug on her remaining European dates and reschedule them."

Austrian media say the two suspects had planned to drive a car into a group of Swift fans.

They then planned to attack them with machetes and knives.

Austrian security officials say the 19-year-old suspect had fully confessed to his plans to 'kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue'.
