"My dog!!! I'm coming back for sure," Kelce's text to McAfee read.
"Gonna try and get to the best shape I've been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop," he continued.
The Chiefs star expressed frustration with his performance in their Super Bowl defeat.
"Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can't go out like that!!!!" Kelce added.
The Eagles beat the Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans on 9 February.
Kelce's decision comes ahead of a crucial deadline for the Chiefs.
According to The Athletic, the team needed his decision by 14 March.
