The 16-year-old has been the talk of Alexandra Palace so far

Luke Littler has revealed he told his mum 'the dream continues' after securing yet another win at the World Darts Championship.

The 16-year-old has electrified Alexandra Palace with some storming performances ever since the competition commenced earlier this month.

Littler had already overcome Christian Kist and Andrew Gilding prior to his showdown with Matt Campbell on Wednesday night.

And the teenager picked up another victory by dismantling his opponent with a 4-1 win.

Littler is now set to pocket a guaranteed £35,000 due to his exploits in the capital so far.

But he's aiming for even more, with the youngster eager to lift the Sid Waddell Trophy when the competition ends next month.

And Littler, speaking after putting Campbell to the sword, shed light on what he told his emotional mother in the crowd.

“I started crying when I saw my mum in the crowd," he said.

"She was nervous. I said to her, ‘The dream continues’. She said the same thing.”

Littler grew up idolising Raymond van Barneveld.

And the pair may now meet in the last 16 if the Dutchman is able to overcome Jim Williams on Friday.

Littler was recently snapped opening his Christmas presents, with fans joking about whether he believes in Father Christmas.

He's now got enough money to treat himself, however.

Littler has joked about what he'll spend his cash on, with the 16-year-old revealing he's in need of more shoes and pants.

“I will stay in the hotel, chill out tomorrow, treat myself to more shoes and pants, chill out and see who I play in the next round,” he said.

“It’s an overall good performance, it’s not like the first round.

"I’ve said I could win with the lowest average of the tournament, I’m just happy to get through.

“I’ve got nothing to lose for myself, I’ve over-achieved again. Now I can just settle.

“My game is there (to win it) but I can settle even more, Jim or Raymond next, I’m just happy.

“If Raymond does beat Jim it would be unbelievable to play him and then win or lose against either of them I’m still happy to come out of the Worlds at the last 16, but I would love to go a few more games in.”

In a separate interview with talkSPORT, meanwhile, Littler revealed he was delighted with his achievements so far.

And he admitted he was eyeing a crack at the ultimate prize amid his sensational form.

“I am incredibly proud of myself," he confessed. “Obviously, everyone thinks about winning the Worlds.

"I was only thinking about winning the game now I’ve got my sights set on the next few rounds.

“The crowd are on my side, they love a 180.

"I always give them a little finger point. It is unbelievable on there.
