Luke Littler had a bone to pick with the PDC after beating Brendan Dolan to reach the World Darts Championship semi-finals.

The 16-year-old has embarked on one of the most remarkable runs in darts history at the Alexandra Palace this year.

Coming into the tournament as a relatively unknown and untested talent on the biggest stage, Littler has blown everyone away with his board management and ruthlessness.

Wins over Christian Kist, Andrew Gilding and Matt Campbell were followed up by the biggest victory of his young career against former world champion Raymond van Barneveld.

That set up a quarter-final clash with Dolan, who knocked out Gerwyn Price and Gary Anderson on his way to the last eight.

Unlike Littler's previous matches, his clash with Dolan was scheduled for the afternoon session.

And it appeared as though the teenager still needed some time to wake up in the first two legs with Dolan rushing to a quick lead.

But Littler quickly settled back into the kind of rhythm he's shown all year to win the next seven consecutive legs and take full control.

He comfortably won the match 5-1 to make it through to the semi-finals and keep his magical run going.

However, Littler joked after his win that he wasn't too happy about being put on the afternoon session.

He said: "I didn't like waking up at nine in the morning, so tomorrow chill and come back in the evening!"

Littler will face No 8 seed Rob Cross for a place in the World Darts Championship final.

Cross had a much tougher and more dramatic time getting through to the final four against Chris Dobey.

The 2018 world champion was 4-0 down and on the verge of going out before pulling off one the most remarkable comebacks in darts history to win 5-4.

Speaking after his win, Cross attempted to take the pressure off himself by stating Littler would be "favourite" for their potential clash.

"He's amazing. He's 16," Cross said.

"I've got a boy who's four years younger and whatever he achieves, he's going to have a bright future.

"Realistically if he comes through that, he's favourite.

"For me, head down now. I'll get me head down now and it can't happen tomorrow."
