A clash against new world No 1 Luke Humphries was one step too far for Littler, losing 7-4 despite leading 4-2 at one point.
However, his disappointment was short-lived lived as he was quickly told he had earned a wildcard spot in the Premier League.
Littler has already racked up over one million followers on Instagram, making him the most followed darts player in the world.
But he has not allowed the new-found fame to get to his head.
Littler posted a message on his X account on Tuesday, thanking his fans for their support.
He understands his life is different from what it was a month ago and is hoping to inspire youngsters to get into the sport.
Littler wrote: "Just want to say thank u to everyone for the support.
"I’m not ignorant in any way.
"My life has changed significantly the last few weeks and it’s just not possible to reply to everyone I’m just a young kid that’s living a dream and hope I’ve inspired many more for the future."
Littler is set to take part in his first PDC World Series of Darts event since the World Championship this week.
He has arrived in Bahrain for the Bahrain Masters alongside seven of the best players in the world and eight stars from Asia.
Littler will then prepare for his first Premier League campaign.
The 17-week-long tournament begins in Cardiff on February 1.
Wayne Mardle believes Littler will be one of the favourites to win on debut.

The Sky Sports pundit said: "It's an amazing line-up. We've got two debutants, we've got a seven-time champion.
"There's a few in there that need to produce like Peter Wright.
"There's a few in there that will want to prove a point like Michael Smith and Gerwyn Price.
"Gerwyn Price has to produce as well. There have been a few performances that have been a bit flat, a bit lacklustre, so that needs to change.
"For me, the one that is going to go under the radar is going to be Rob Cross.
