The 16-year-old was beaten by Luke Humphries on Wednesday night

Luke Littler has promised to help girlfriend Eloise Milburn get to his level in the wake of his defeat in the final of the World Darts Championship.

The teenager enjoyed a stunning run at the tournament at Alexandra Palace.

Yet Littler suffered heartbreak in the final, with Humphries winning 7-4 to secure the prize at the fourth time of asking.

One person watching the showdown at Ally Pally was Milburn, who looked tense throughout.

She was caught on camera crying in the wake of her boyfriend's defeat, with Littler leading 4-2 at one point.

An amateur darts player herself, the 21-year-old will be hoping to perform on the big stage in the future.

And Littler, speaking to Good Morning Britain, has promised Milburn he'll help her get to his level in the future.

“Yeah, obviously I’ve just played in that one, so hopefully I can practise with Eloise and try and get her to where I am," he said.

Milburn plays at the Walton Working Men's Club.

And she also represents the Surrey Women's darts side, too.

Littler and Milburn are believed to have met via Xbox, with the pair playing FIFA together online.

And the 16-year-old has admitted he's looking forward to being reunited with his games console.

“Yeah, I can’t wait to go back on my Xbox," he said.

When asked how long he practices for, Littler then admitted that his Xbox is a big distraction - and that he gets 'bored'.

“Believe it or not, about half an hour, 45 minutes [per day]," the youngster added.

"I just practise on my own and it gets boring. I’m just bored.

"My Xbox is next to me, there’s a board there, so I just go on my Xbox.”

Littler loves a kebab and treated himself regularly amid his surging run to the final.

But he had scrambled eggs, beans on toast and pizza prior to stepping out at the oche.

“I had scrambled eggs and beans on toast for dinner. I woke up at 12," he said when asked about his pre-match routine.

“Then we go to the venue, sign everyone in, get the wristbands on, have a margarita pizza and then throw for like half an hour or 45 minutes, go and bull-up to see who throws first, play a bit of Football Manager then back on the board.”

Humphries, meanwhile, thinks Littler should change his nickname from 'Luke the Nuke' to 'relentless' instead.

"He has got a fantastic attitude and he has got a good family behind him," he said.

"He has got a massive, massive future ahead of him.

"He is relentless, isn't he? That could be his nickname.

"There was just nothing that could have fazed him there. Every single leg on leg he seemed to find a treble or two trebles.

"That was the world final for a 16-year-old.

"To put in a performance like that, if he wouldn't have played well we'd have all forgiven him.

"He was unbelievable. I've got no superlatives to describe how good he is."
