The 17-year-old will be hoping to win his match tonight

Darts fans have joked about Luke Littler being unable to drink alcohol after the teenager uploaded a picture of himself at dinner prior to his Premier League clash with Luke Humphries tonight.

It will be the third meeting between the pair in the space of a month, having previously met in the World Darts Championship and Dutch Masters.

Ahead of Littler's big night, the 17-year-old went out for dinner at a branch of The Ivy.

The youngster took to Instagram to share a picture of himself sitting with the likes of Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall, as well as manager Martin Foulds.

And fans then all joked about Littler being unable to drink alcohol at the meal due to his young age.

"Can't even drink beer in a restaraunt," joked one user.

"Photo taken before the under age drinking commences," a second quipped.

A third responded to the post by saying: "On the j20s."

A fourth user addressed both Aspinall and Cross by saying: "Come on now @asp180 and @robcrossdarts which one of you sneaks Luke the pints under the table."

And a fifth referred to Littler's love of kebabs by saying: "Looks a bit posh for a kebab Luke."

Littler will be hoping to win against Humphries on Thursday night as he looks to make a name for himself in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the teenager admitted he was out for 'revenge' on Humphries after losing to his 28-year-old rival at Alexandra Palace last month.

"Obviously I've seen the line-up and I play Luke on the first night," he said.

"Last game on, so I'll try and get my revenge on him and try and move onto the semi-final.

"But if it's not to be then we go again for the next 14 weeks. I can't wait to play every venue. It's going to be crazy."

Humphries has vowed to look out for Littler, insisting he's not bothered about the attention his countryman receives.

“My dream wasn’t for everybody to go crazy about me - it was to be world champion, and I’ve fulfilled that dream," he said.

"A lot of people think it bothers me (Littler's attention) but it doesn’t.

"I’ve achieved the dream, and whatever comes with that, it doesn’t matter.

“Nothing will ever take that world title away from me, but Luke’s the star of the show at the moment and that’s just the way it is.

"It’s important that all of the players look after him and no-one takes advantage of him or uses him too much, because that will happen in life.

"People will want to use him because of his popularity and stature. But all the players will look after him and make sure none of that happens.

"He’s a great kid and he’s got a bright future - and so have I.”

One person who will fancy their chances of winning the competition is Michael van Gerwen.

The Dutchman has won the title seven times so far from 11 appearances in total.

That's one more than darts icon Phil Taylor, who appeared in the competition 13 times.

And it's five more than Gary Anderson, who has failed to make the cut.
