The youngster has been in outstanding form at the competition so far, winning all three of his matches

John Part has branded Luke Littler a 'bully' amid his sensational form at the World Darts Championship.

The 16-year-old has won all three of his matches at Alexandra Palace so far and booked his place in the last 16 with a comprehensive victory over Matt Campbell on Wednesday night.

Littler won 4-1, with that victory coming after previous wins over Christian Kist and Andrew Gilding.

The teenager is now dreaming of going all the way and claiming the Sid Waddell Trophy when the competition ends next month.

And former darts star John Part has been impressed by the way the youngster has performed.

He believes Littler is a 'bully' and will take some stopping, especially with such strong momentum behind him.

"The other players are impressed.... [Littler] is a bully!" he told Sky Sports.

"He is ruling the schoolyard at the moment. You can't argue with it. He has got the talent.

"You have got to have a comprehensively solid performance against him.

"You can't have any down period and you have to take every shot that you get an opportunity of."

Littler has also earned praise from darts star Michael van Gerwen.

The Dutchman does believe, however, that he's 'better' than his rival.

"I think if you look talent wise, I think I am slightly better but he doesn't care wherever he plays and that's why I admire him," said Van Gerwen.

"He is a big talent player. He can win a lot of tournaments in the future of darts, 100 per cent."

When quizzed further, he joked: "Are we going to talk about the Luke Littler or are we going to talk about the world championships?

"No, I am winding you up, of course you are going to get questions about Luke Littler."

The 34-year-old also made it clear he liked receiving attention at a time when much of the spotlight is on Littler instead.

"I wish everyone gives me attention because when you get attention it is a pleasure, it is something good," he said.

"When they talk about you it is a good sign, it means you still mean something to the sport."

Littler, meanwhile, has joked he's ready to buy some new pants and shoes after pocketing £35,000 following his achievements in London.

“I will stay in the hotel, chill out tomorrow, treat myself to more shoes and pants, chill out and see who I play in the next round,” he said.

“It’s an overall good performance, it’s not like the first round.

"I’ve said I could win with the lowest average of the tournament, I’m just happy to get through.

“I’ve got nothing to lose for myself, I’ve over-achieved again. Now I can just settle.

“My game is there (to win it) but I can settle even more, Jim or Raymond next, I’m just happy.

“If Raymond does beat Jim it would be unbelievable to play him and then win or lose against either of them I’m still happy to come out of the Worlds at the last 16, but I would love to go a few more games in.”
