Wrestling legend John Cena has revealed he was diagnosed with skin cancer following years of neglecting sun protection.
In an interview with People, Cena explained he never thought he would be affected by the disease.
The 47-year-old admitted he consistently avoided using sun cream despite regular exposure after moving from New York to Florida.
"I was stubborn. I didn't want to have a routine and I also thought the problem would never reach me," Cena said.

"It's one of those things where I had a ton of exposure with minimal protection and it caught up with me," he revealed.
Cena explained that the wake-up call came when he "went to a dermatologist and got a skin checkup and had a cancerous spot removed from my right pec".
Fortunately, the spot was removed without complications, though he was referred to a specialist dermatologist.
The WWE star praised his skin doctor for providing supportive care throughout his treatment.

Health experts emphasise there is "no safe or healthy way to get a tan".
"A tan does not protect your skin from the sun's harmful effects," according to NHS guidance.
For adequate protection, the NHS recommends using "an SPF of at least 30 to protect against UVB with at least 4-star UVA protection".
Experts stress that prevention remains the most effective strategy against skin cancer.
