The legendary wrestler has appeared in a Royal Rumble promotional video

Hulk Hogan has dropped a huge hint that he could return to the WWE ring at Royal Rumble this weekend.

The 70-year-old hasn't performed for the organisation since 2012 but has teased a sensational comeback.

Hogan is long retired from his successful wrestling career, where he won six World Heavyweight Championships and six WWE Championships.

He has returned on occasion, the most recent being last January when he opened the 30th anniversary of RAW.

He hasn't stepped into the ring for over 12 years and said last year that one last fight was 'completely out of the picture'.

But he is in WWE's promotional video ahead of Royal Rumble, which takes place at Tropicana Field in Florida this Saturday evening.

In a short clip on WWE's official X account, Hogan got fans excited that he could compete for one last time.

The legendary fighter, who won the Royal Rumble match twice in the early 1990s, dropped a hint he could be a 'wildcard' entry.

"The wildcard factor… You never know who’s going to show up… You never know," Hogan said while pointing at himself. "I might have one left in me."

The video drew an immediate reaction from WWE fans, with some delighted by the prospect of Hogan returning.

One X user wrote: "He's winning the rumble isn't he", while another posted "40 years of The Hulkster! I love this Man!"

Another fan replied: "The GOAT going to the Rumble? I’m all for it", with another writing: "Hulk Hogan has to finish his story."

However, it didn't go down well with everyone on X, with some claiming Hogan should stay away.

"Party’s over grandpa" wrote one user, while another posted: "Don’t tease it. That time is gone Hogan. Surgery after surgery after surgery and controversy. No need to get in that ring again."

Hogan has undergone numerous surgeries in recent years, with over 10 procedures on his back as well as knee and hip replacements.

Speaking in 2023, he conceded that any hopes of entering the ring again were over due to his physical condition.

Hogan said: "I would have loved to have had that last match. But now it’s completely out of the picture.

"You know, I’m just too beat up from the surgeries. I think if I took a couple of bumps, you probably have to cut up me again.

"But no, I really wanted to have that last match. [Against who?] I wasn’t sure you know, I had I think it was WrestleMania 25 in Orlando."

Kurt Angle also revealed after Raw's 30th anniversary that Hogan 'can't feel his lower body'.

Speaking on the Kurt Angle show last January, he said: "He had the nerves cut from his lower body. He can’t feel his lower body.

"He doesn’t have any pain. He has nothing at all. He can’t feel anything. So now he can’t feel his legs. So he has to walk with a cane which is, you know, that’s pretty serious, man.

"I really feel for Hogan. He put his heart and soul into the business and ate him up...

"I mean, if you’re going to kick off the show, the 30th anniversary of Raw, it should be Hulk Hogan.

"He’s the name and face of the company. He’s the guy that revolutionised pro wrestling. I have so much respect for him."
