Trump made history as the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, appearing at the New Orleans venue with his daughter Ivanka and son Eric.
He was spotted shaking hands with Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones on the field before the match.
The president departed shortly after halftime, though this was reportedly expected.
Before his early exit, Mahomes' mother, brother and sister posed for a photo with Trump in his private suite.
He also spent time meeting with families of victims from the New Year's Eve ISIS attack on Bourbon Street and emergency responders.
Prior to the game, Trump had predicted a Chiefs victory despite his reservations.

"I hate to do it," Trump told Fox News' Bret Baier. "I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as he's won – I have to go with Kansas City."
The president praised Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, claiming to have their support for his 2024 presidential bid.
He acknowledged Philadelphia's strength, adding: "Philadelphia is fantastic, it's going to be just a great game."

Donald Trump took to Truth Social to troll Taylor Swift
Truth Social
Trump's animosity towards Swift was evident in a September Truth Social post where he declared: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"
The outburst came after Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the November election.
Swift had previously backed both Joe Biden and Harris over Trump in past elections.
Whilst not directly criticising Trump in her recent Instagram post, Swift encouraged her millions of followers to research the election and register to vote via vote.gov.

During his historic Super Bowl appearance, Trump mingled with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Saints owner Gayle Benson in his private box.
The president's presence marked the first time a sitting head of state has attended America's biggest sporting event.
Trump's attendance was particularly notable given the Eagles' 2018 refusal to visit the White House following their Super Bowl victory.
He spent time waving to the cheering crowd throughout his stay at the Caesars Superdome before his halftime departure.
