The UFC fighter plans to appeal the verdict

Dee Devlin has revealed she's standing by Conor McGregor after breaking her silence following the fighter's rape civil case verdict.

The UFC star's long-term partner took to social media to address the situation directly after her partner was found liable of assaulting a woman named Nikita Hand.

"Conor and I dealt with these issues privately many years ago, as should be done in a relationship and we have come out stronger than ever," Devlin wrote.

She emphasised their family life, adding: "We have four beautiful children now whose smiling faces and happy hearts are a testament to who he is and who we are!"

The show of support comes as McGregor faces significant fallout from the recent court decision.

A Dublin jury found McGregor had assaulted Nikita Hand at a hotel in 2018, awarding the victim more than £200,000 in damages last Friday.

McGregor maintains the encounter was consensual and has confirmed he will appeal the decision, while also admitting he has made 'mistakes' in his relationship with Devlin.

The incident occurred at a Dublin hotel, with some brands already starting to distance themselves from the fighter.

Major retailers across the UK and Ireland, including Tesco, have announced they will stop selling alcoholic drinks associated with McGregor.

The fighter's whiskey brand Proper No. 12 will no longer carry his name, following the verdict.

McGregor had previously sold his stake in the whiskey business for more than £100million in 2021.

The commercial impact has extended to the gaming industry, with a popular video game developer removing content featuring the MMA fighter.

This included McGregor's character in the Hitman series, where he had provided voice-acting for downloadable content featuring his likeness.

McGregor issued a statement addressing the situation, acknowledging his mistakes from six years ago.

"I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down," he wrote.

The fighter expressed regret for his actions towards his partner: "I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world."

McGregor maintains the encounter was consensual and confirmed his legal team will appeal.

The 36-year-old has not competed in UFC since July 2021, with his planned bout against Michael Chandler this summer cancelled after the Irishman suffered a broken toe.

The UFC has yet to comment on whether their former star will be allowed to feature in the sport again.
