The UFC icon is due to return to the sport later this month

Conor McGregor has uploaded a cryptic post from the doctors amid fears his upcoming fight with Michael Chandler will be called off.

The UFC icon hasn't participated in the sport since losing to Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.

McGregor recently cancelled a press conference, though did try to allay fears his upcoming clash with Chandler would be scrapped.

"In consultation with the UFC, todays press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control," he said.

"I apologise to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support.

"I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the Octagon."

Concerns over the contest remain, however.

And McGregor has now uploaded a cryptic post on Instagram, only adding more fuel to the fire.

The Irishman was seen smiling while visiting the doctors, flexing his huge muscles in the process.

And fans aren't sure what to make of the post.

"Tf this mean bruh," were the words of one bemused supporter.

"Damn he knows how to sell a fight. He’s got everyone panicking on purpose," said a second.

"Why aren’t you covered in oil in a hot tub and speaking about ufc 303???" were the words of a third.

A fourth said: "Bro act like he pull out the fight but he just promoting the fight."

A fifth opined: "Bro is playing with all of our emotions."

And a sixth stated: "McGregor doesn’t pull outta fights! He’ll be there book it!"

Earlier this week, there were claims UFC chiefs have been 'sending out feelers' over potential replacements for McGregor.

Yet MMA reporter Ariel Helwani has said there remains 'great optimism' the 35-year-old will return to UFC after a three-year absence.

"As of last night and as of today, this morning, early afternoon... I can tell you that there is great positivity that this fight is going forward," he said.
