Slovakia star Tamara Potocka collapses at Olympics with swimmer carried away on a stretcher

Slovakian athlete Tamara Potocka was carried away on a stretcher after completing a swim at the Paris Olympics on Friday.
The 21-year-old competed in a heat of the women's 200-meter individual medley, which took part at 10:30am this morning.
After finishing seventh, Potocka climbed out of the pool. However, moments later, her legs buckled with the youngster falling to the ground.
She managed to sit down for a few seconds before falling, with Potocka visibly distressed as medics rushed to her aid.

They placed an oxygen mask over her face as she lay motionless, with Potocka then carried away on a stretcher while fans inside the Paris Aquatics Centre watched on in horror.
Supporters watching the action unfold from home were left horrified, too, with the sporting world hoping she makes a swift recovery.
One supporter on X said: "Praying for 21-year-old Slovakian swimmer Tamara Potocká, who collapsed at the side of the pool following the women's 200-meter individual medley in Paris."
"Let's hope for her speedy recovery," said another.

Fortunately, there has already been a positive update on the 21-year-old.
The media manager of the Paris Aquatics Centre has confirmed she was conscious after being taken away from the action.
There was no further update on her condition, however, with Potocka still undergoing medical tests.
Potocka is competing at her first Olympics and is coached by Milos Bozik.
Her profile on the World Aquatics website shows that she enjoys playing football, reading and sleeping when away from the pool.
Potocka holds the Slovakian record for the 50m butterfly, as well as the 200m individual medley.

Speaking after her collapse, one commentator said: "This doesn't look good...15,000 people are now watching an athlete surrounded by medical staff and I can assure you it's absolutely silent in here.
"They've got a stretcher out, they've got an oxygen mask on the athlete, and I'm going to say... this looks very serious.

"They've got the neck brace around so I can only imagine that someone has hit their head and has some kind of trauma - they want to immobilise the athlete.
"We hope that there's nothing more than that..."
