Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen won Team GB's first medal of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris today
Sophie Reaper shared her reaction to Team GB winning their first medal on the first day of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The GB News reporter is in Paris to report on the games.
While travelling to the next filming location, Sophie shared her reaction after Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen won Team GB's first medal of Paris 2024, scooping bronze in the women's synchronised 3m springboard final.
She said: "Well, we're currently in the back of a cab on the way to our next location - myself and my cameraman.
"But I just had to quickly react to the fact that Team GB are now officially on the medal table.
"Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen. I predicted it after they took Silver at the World Championships in Japan last year.
"I have said all morning there's every chance that they could take a medal. They've taken the bronze.
"It's quite dramatic circumstances, of course, I'm in a cab in the middle of Paris, but I've been following along and it was the Australians. They made a mess of that fifth dive and that's what's clinched it for the Team GB girls. Incredibly proud and what a fabulous start to the first official day of action.
"Absolutely brilliant. And we'll have all the latest for you on today on GB News."
