Noah Lyles' girlfriend suffers big backlash after Team USA star wins gold at Paris Olympics

Noah Lyles' girlfriend has suffered a backlash online by celebrating the Team USA star's triumph in the 100m of the Paris Olympics on Sunday.
Lyles won the gold medal by just five thousandths of a second, narrowly pipping Kishane Thompson to the prize.
After his race, Lyles embraced his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, in the stands.
Bromfield is a Jamaican athlete and is set to take part in the heats for the 400m on Monday.

Bromfield took to social media to share a snap of herself hugging Lyles, accompanying her post with a caption that read: "The doubles is alive!"
But due to the 26-year-old beating Jamaican, and because of Thompson narrowly missing out, she's now suffered a backlash.
Some fans on social media have already started to rip into Bromfield for her message.
However, many supporters are backing the 400m star instead. One user said: "Yall expect her not to support her bf?"

A second said: "Amazing y’all bashing this woman for support her man US x JM we ain’t enemies Noah just wants to win he never talks down on y’all smh."
A third stated: "Let’s stop the hate and learn to love. Last Olympics he did not win this Olympics he did. That’s called life. Let’s get in the life train. Congratulations to the both of you."
A fourth said: "Really loved when he went over to you and his mother to hug you both .. not gonna lie- I was rooting for Kishane but his time will come. Congratulations to Noah."
And a fifth defended Bromfield by saying: "Let them be! They are bringing our countries together. Congratulations Noah!"

Lyles was proud after winning his first Olympic gold medal.
The Team USA star said: “It’s the one I wanted, it’s the hard battle, the amazing opponents, everybody was healthy and came to fight."
But Lyles also showed a touch of class by admitting he thought Thompson deserved the gold medal instead.
He added: “I’m the wolf among wolves. I’ll be honest, I went to Kishane, I said, ‘I’ll be honest, I think you had that one’.

“I was prepared to see his name pop up. I saw my name pop up and I said, goodness gracious, I’m incredible.
“I’m still moving forward and moving forward, when the time came and I was saying: this is the final and I’m going to need to go out there and do it.
“I wasn’t ready to see it (my name pop up) I’m going to be honest that’s the first time that I wasn’t ready to see it, he was quite a few lanes down so it was quite hard for me to picture where we were, but I guess that was a good thing.”
Thompson, meanwhile, has admitted he's disappointed after being forced to settle for silver.

"I'm a bit disappointed," said the 23-year-old.
"But I'm happy at the same time. I am going to take it as what it is and move forward from here."
