Laura Woods has revealed she's received death threats directed at herself and her unborn child after reacting to an article criticising the International Olympic Committee's stance on Imane Khelif.

Both Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting recently won gold at the Paris Olympics, despite the pair facing scrutiny over their gender.

A recent article from The Telegraph's Oliver Brown raised concerns about the protection of female athletes after the IOC let both Khelif and Lin compete.

Woods replied to the post on by saying it was a 'great article', while also accompanying her message with an applause emoji.

The presenter confirmed back in July that she would be welcoming her first baby with Love Island star Adam Collard.

And Woods, writing on X, has now heartbreakingly revealed she's received death threats ever since reacting to the post.

"Since I replied to this article I’ve had numerous death threats to myself and my unborn child," she said.

"Questions on my own gender (I’m pregnant so guess that clears that one up) calls for my employers to sack me, threats to my home.

"I’ve been called a racist, a bigot and a sexist as well as various insults - c**t, s**g etc.

"I’ve also been asked why I haven’t raised any concerns on this topic before? See above for your answer.

"When there are discrepancies with test results - which could impact the safety of another human being, in an environment that above all else should be fair - questions are quite rightly going to be asked.

"The answers are still unclear, otherwise this topic would be closed."

In a follow up message, Woods added: "I've been asked repeatedly to DO MY RESEARCH. I have.

"Which has led me to more questions. So rather than engage with the pile on, I thought I’d add anything of interest here."

Woods has continued to face a backlash, despite standing up in the face of such devastating abuse.

One X user wrote: "Must be horrible to have someone questioning your gender."

And Woods hit back by saying: "I agree. I’d clear it up with further tests to shut everyone up."

Another user asked the presenter: "So ability to become pregnant is what defines a woman now?"

Woods responded: "Well if I was a man I wouldn't have the facilities."

The 37-year-old has, fortunately, been flooded with messages of support from fans online.

One user said: "Ignore them, the article was spot on.

"Where there are questions or even a smidgen of doubt (backed up by an intention boxing federation FYI), women’s safety should NEVER be put at risk. The potential consequences are devastating."

A second said: "You have been subjected to a horrendous pile on. "Online bullying (simply because you stated an opinion) is completely unacceptable. The worst elements of aggressive and vindictive cancel culture."

A third said: "It's awful bullying that is designed to silence you. The intolerance of the 'tolerant' strikes again!

"Many congratulations on your happy news!"

And Martina Navratilova even reached out to Woods, with the tennis legend saying: "Sorry about this ridiculous pile-on… it’s just sad."
