The famous celebrity chef's daughter is in a relationship with an Olympic star

Gordon Ramsay has joked Adam Peaty is 'full of s**t' after the Team GB swimmer refused to shed light on his future in the sport.

Peaty is currently in Paris for the Olympics, with the opening ceremony for the games due to take place on Friday night.

The Team GB star, who has won five Olympic medals during his glittering career so far, is in a relationship with Ramsay's daughter, Holly.

Ahead of the games, Ramsay and Peaty sat down for a conversation. The celebrity chef asked the swimmer about his post-Olympic plans, only for Peaty to keep his cards close to his chest.

The 29-year-old said: "Who knows? You're smiling, I'm not going to give you the pleasure.

"I'm not going to do it. You're trapping me."

And Ramsay, who has never been one to mince his words, hit back by saying Peaty was 'full of s**t'.

"You're full of s**t! You are definitely not retiring. Absolutely, definitely not retiring," he said.

Ramsay also had some amusing words of encouragement for the Team GB star, saying: "Very best of luck. Don't f*** this up."

Given his age, Peaty has several good years left in him as he looks to continue to etch his name into Olympic folklore.

He has, however, considered retiring in the past. Last year, Peaty considered hanging up his goggles to prioritise his mental health.

Speaking recently to The Guardian, the five-time medallist opened up on when he considered quitting swimming for good.

"It started in the water and my goggles filled with tears," he said.

"I was crying as I was swimming and I couldn’t acknowledge the situation without crying for months because it had broken me.

"Remember how Bane breaks Batman’s back [in The Dark Knight Rises]? That’s what I did to myself mentally.

"I lost all sense of direction and purpose. I thought: 'Why am I even here?'. I said: 'Mel [Marshall, his long-term coach], I’ve got to get out'. I’d never terminated a training session before. I’d always gone: 'Can I have more, can I have more?'. Like a labrador with a stick.

"I was in the shower, still crying, and Mel said: 'What’s up?'. I told her: 'I’m done'. Until then I’d ignored everything about that burnout.

"I did 25m breaststroke and I was like: 'I don’t want to do this any more.' I couldn’t think of anything worse and that thought had been brewing for months, potentially years.

"It was no longer worth it. I went to the shop, bought loads of chocolate and ate it.

"It’s what you call a breakdown because I lost all discipline, confidence and purpose.

"The greatest achievements are not easy and I just wasn’t willing to pay that cost any more."

Peaty currently has three world records to his name.

And whether he can add to that this summer, in Paris, remains to be seen.
