The Red Devils are concerned about information being leaked out of Old Trafford

Manchester United fear a new anonymous account on X is leaking injury updates and team news.

And they're also worried a mole exists within the camp and is behind the information being published online.

The account in question, which was created earlier this year, has gained a big reputation on social media for being accurate.

They have also picked up thousands of followers and while it has stopped posting on match days, it has recently provided updates on the likes of Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Sergio Reguilon.

Per the Daily Mail, the anonymous user has 'raised suspicion' within United.

They believe it could be the work of somebody 'connected with the club' who 'has access to confidential information'.

United are looking into the matter and are described as 'determined' to root out any moles.

As well as that specific account, the Red Devils are also monitoring others that publish information about injuries and team selections.

United fear it damaging team unity, while they're also concerned their opponents could gain an advantage from the details being provided.

A source said: "Preparation for games these days is so thorough that leaked information about team line-ups and injuries can give the opposition an advantage to exploit.

"United fans should be hounding out these accounts that routinely leak this kind of information, and questioning what is their motivation for doing it."

The report also provides an injury update on Lisandro Martinez.

United confirmed the defender was set for a spell on the sidelines earlier this week due to requiring surgery on the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.

The defender picked up the injury in a Europa League match against Sevilla back in April.

United have since sent Martinez to undergo surgery.

And that has apparently 'gone well' in a major boost to the Red Devils as they look to get the Argentine fully fit as quickly as possible.

United are, however, eyeing the potential signing of a new defender in January.

Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite is on their radar, despite the Toffees enduring a difficult Premier League campaign so far.

And Benfica's Antonio Silva and Nice's Jean-Claire Tobido are in their sights as well.

Meanwhile, speaking ahead of United's clash with Galatasaray on Tuesday, Erik ten Hag confirmed Antony was in contention to play.

The Brazil international was allowed a period of absence last month amid allegations of domestic abuse, which he strongly denies.

He has since returned to training, however, and Ten Hag has confirmed Antony could feature.

"Antony will be in consideration, but yesterday was his first time back in team training," the United manager said on Monday.

"We have a final training (session) and then we make a decision, but he will be in consideration, yeah."

When quizzed about the police investigation into Antony, he added: "So, he co-operated fully.
