Rockstar Games have confirmed a trailer for the title will release next month
Rockstar Games have finally confirmed the news every Grand Theft Auto fan has been waiting for.
Nearly a decade on from the release of GTA 5, a trailer for GTA 6 will be shown off next month.
Rockstar confirmed the news on social media, saying: "Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games.
"Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about.
We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.

Thank you,
Sam Houser
"Without you, none of this would be possible, and we are so grateful to all of you for sharing this journey with us.
"In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution.
"We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto.
"We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you."
GB News now takes a look at four things we expect from the upcoming trailer.
Last year, Rockstar suffered from leaks with clips and images from the upcoming title surfacing on social media.
And it appears fans will get the chance to play as two protagonists.
Leakers say Jason and Lucia will be confirmed as fresh characters, with the pair reportedly inspired by Bonnie and Clyde.
If true, then Lucia will be the first female protagonist in the series' entire history.
Fans can expect to get a glimpse of the two characters for the first time when the trailer drops next month - especially given there's no real reason to hold that information back.
Grand Theft Auto IV saw the game set in a modernised but fictitious version of New York City, called Liberty City.
GTA V brought fans back to Los Santos, which is based on Los Angeles.
And GTA 6 is primed to tap into nostalgia once again with Vice City the rumoured location.
Vice City is based on Miami and, according to leakers, will be bigger and glitzier than ever next time around.
Whether Tommy Vercetti is still knocking around in his Hawaiian shirt, however, remains to be seen.
Given it's the first trailer, fans shouldn't expect Rockstar to give up all their details right away.
Especially when history is anything to go by.
The first trailer for GTA IV was just over a minute long and served to show off the improved graphics for the game.
And the maiden trailer for GTA wasn't much longer, either.
Those hoping for footage showing gameplay and new characters in action are set to be left disappointed, with Rockstar only set to tease and introduce the game rather than putting all of their cards on the table.

Even though many years have passed since GTA V, it's still Rockstar who are creating the game.
And that means people should expect the same quality they've become known for over the years.
Graphically, it's set to blow the world away.
GTA V was visually stunning, as well as 2018's Red Dead Redemption: 2.
Gameplay is primed to be sensational, too, especially with Rockstar always making improvements. What specifically they have up their sleeves, however, remains to be seen.
