Tiger Woods has expressed optimism about resolving the divide between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, following productive talks involving former US President Donald Trump.
Speaking during the Genesis Open broadcast in San Diego on Sunday, Woods said: "I think we're in a very positive place right now."
The 15-time major champion believes the sport is moving towards reunification, stating: "Things are going to heal quickly.
"We're going to get this game going in the right direction."

The appearance at the Genesis Invitational m arked Woods' first public outing since the death of his mother, Kultida Woods.
Woods arrived at Torrey Pines Golf Course accompanied by Kai Trump, the 17-year-old granddaughter of Donald Trump.
Fellow professionals showed their support, with players including Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy wearing red pins in tribute to Kultida.
Kai Trump, who is set to join the University of Miami's golf team, had earlier participated in the tournament's Pro-Am round alongside McIlroy.
PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and Player Director Adam Scott recently held a meeting with President Trump, seeking his involvement in talks with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

Woods, who was unable to attend due to personal circumstances, confirmed: "Jay and Adam, they did great during the meeting and we have a subsequent meeting coming up."
The golf legend emphasised fan expectations, stating: "The fans want all the top players playing together and we're going to make that happen."
Trump's growing influence in golf negotiations has been highlighted by key figures in the sport.

Rory McIlroy revealed Trump's stance after a recent round together, saying: "I learnt that he's not a fan of the LIV format."
McIlroy emphasised Trump's Middle Eastern influence: "I don't think people appreciate how much respect he has there. Whenever he says something, they listen."
LIV CEO Scott O'Neill has welcomed Trump's involvement, stating: "If the leader of the free world is spending his time on golf, I am very happy."

The framework for resolving golf's divide was initially set in June 2023, when the PGA Tour, PIF and DP World Tour announced plans to unite their commercial operations.
While the original December 2023 deadline was extended, talks have intensified with new parties showing interest.
Strategic Sports Group, led by Fenway Sports Group, has emerged as a potential outside investor in the PGA Tour.
LIV Golf continues its relationship with Trump-owned venues, with an upcoming event scheduled for Trump National Doral in Miami this April.
