Rory McIlroy has expressed hope for a resolution to the ongoing dispute between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, calling for compromise from both sides.
The world number three told BBC Sport NI: "I think everyone in the game would love there to be one [a resolution]."
McIlroy acknowledged the complexity of the situation, stating: "A solution is hard to get to because there are different interests and people want different things.
"There's going to have to be compromise on both sides but hopefully they're the things they're talking about in those meetings."
His comments come as negotiations between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) have intensified, with recent meetings taking place in New York.
The latest developments in the talks include the involvement of golfing legend Tiger Woods, who flew to New York to join meetings with PIF representatives.

ESPN reported that further face-to-face discussions are planned in the US over the coming days.
A crucial aspect of these negotiations is the potential £760 million ($1bn) investment from PIF into the PGA Tour's newly-formed for-profit entity, PGA Tour Enterprises.

This substantial funding could play a key role in resolving the ongoing dispute between the two golf organisations.
PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan previously stated that conversations are "complex" and "will continue to take time", but emphasised that they are "productive".

McIlroy added: "I'm hopeful and hopefully we'll hear some good news in the foreseeable future where things start to come back together."
While expressing hope for a resolution, McIlroy is also focusing on his upcoming tournament.

He is set to headline the Irish Open at Royal County Down this week, marking his first competitive appearance on home soil since 2019.
McIlroy acknowledged the pressure of performing in front of home fans, saying: "I've had to learn over the years how to manage my week when I come home."

He aims to strike a balance, stating: "It's about managing all those emotions and getting lost in my own little world and not trying to do anything I wouldn't normally do."
McIlroy also confirmed his commitment to the Irish Open for 2025, despite plans to reduce his tournament schedule in the future.
