Rory McIlroy has been invited to parade his Masters trophy at Old Trafford after completing golf's career Grand Slam on Sunday - with the 35-year-old poised to follow in the footsteps of darts sensation Luke Littler.
The Manchester United fan became only the sixth man to achieve the feat after a nerve-wracking final day at Augusta.
McIlroy overcame Justin Rose in a play-off to secure the fifth major of his career, ending an 11-year drought.
And the Northern Irishman will now have the chance to don his green jacket at the home of his beloved club.

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim sent a video message to McIlroy praising the golfer for achieving "something a lot of people thought would be impossible."
"Hi Rory," Amorim said. "Congratulations for The Masters and I want to invite you to Old Trafford to show your trophy.
"It is really important to us in this moment. You achieved something that a lot of people thought would be impossible and we want that feeling in our stadium.
"So, I hope to see you soon at Old Trafford and to meet you."
Amorim's message comes as he attempts to turn around United's fortunes, with the Portuguese coach repeatedly stating that a Premier League title is the key aim in the long run despite their current struggles.

The Red Devils sit 14th in the Premier League table having suffered 14 defeats in 32 league matches this season following Sunday's nightmare 4-1 defeat to Newcastle at St James' Park.
When asked if he wanted an invite to Old Trafford following his Masters success, McIlroy referenced the club's current form.
"If it can inspire some better play, absolutely," he replied.
This is not McIlroy's first trophy parade at Old Trafford. He previously displayed the Claret Jug at the stadium in August 2014.

That visit followed his victory at The Open Championship, posing with the trophy before a home game against Swansea.
McIlroy, who once revealed a desire to invest in Manchester United, would be following in the footsteps of another sporting star this season.
Darts sensation Littler also paraded his PDC World Championship trophy at Old Trafford in January.
Manchester United have three remaining home fixtures in the Premier League this season that could accommodate McIlroy's visit.

The Red Devils host Wolves on Sunday, before welcoming West Ham on May 10 and Aston Villa on the final day of the season on May 25.
However, McIlroy's schedule presents some challenges. He is set to play the Zurich Classic in New Orleans from April 24 to 27.
The golfer will then chase further major success at the PGA Championship, beginning at Quail Hollow Club, North Carolina on May 15.
Europa League progression could provide additional opportunities, with semi-final matches scheduled for May 1 and 8.

PAManchester United's invitation to McIlroy comes at a crucial time for the club, with Amorim seeking inspiration for his struggling side.
United can still salvage their season in the Europa League, with their quarter-final against Lyon level at 2-2 ahead of Thursday's second leg.
The Northern Irishman's career Grand Slam achievement represents the kind of success Amorim is desperate to bring back to Old Trafford.
For McIlroy, the invitation offers a chance to celebrate with fellow supporters at the stadium of the club he has long supported.
