The 41-year-old has been axed following their 2-1 defeat to Ipswich on Saturday

Wolves are set to start looking for a new manager in the wake of their decision to sack Gary O'Neil on Sunday.

The writing appeared to be on the wall for the 41-year-old after their chastening 2-1 defeat to Kieran McKenna's Ipswich Town just 24 hours previously.

Wolves are yet to decide on a permanent replacement for O'Neil, who leaves with the team sitting 19th in the Premier League table.

GB News now takes a look at four managers they could bring in to take over.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

On Saturday, as Wolves crashed to defeat, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was spotted in the stands.

The Norwegian hasn't returned to management ever since being sacked by Manchester United back in November 2021.

But while Solskjaer's appearance has sparked rumours that he could take over, the Red Devils icon doesn't seem interested in returning to the dugout.

Just last month he confirmed he was effectively retired from management. However, Wolves could certainly do a lot worse given how he did well enough during his time as United boss - even if he was unable to guide them to any silverware.

David Moyes

West Ham have struggled ever since David Moyes left the London Stadium back in the summer.

And though there's a sense the Scot is enjoying some time off, Wolves could represent an intriguing possibility.

Moyes would, perhaps, be the standout candidate. He previously kept West Ham up and worked wonders during his time at Everton, too.

If Wolves want to stay in the top flight, then the veteran Premier League boss is certainly somebody they should consider.

Sergio Conceicao

Reports recently indicated that Wolves are interested in appointing Sergio Conceicao as their new manager.

The 50-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Porto back in the summer, having won 72 per cent of his games in charge.

Conceicao would represent an exciting appointment that would immediately boost morale around the place.

Given he's never managed in the Premier League, however, he'd still represent a gamble.

Wolves next manager: Graham Potter could be an option to replace Gary O'Neil

Graham Potter is a curious case.

He did brilliantly at Brighton before struggling at Chelsea, with the Englishman relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge in April last year after failing to live up to expectations.

Potter would bring attacking football to Molineux and, though his time at Chelsea didn't work out, is still one of the brightest managerial prospects this country has to offer.

Whether he'd be interested in coaching a team struggling to beat the drop, however, remains to be seen.

Wolves next manager: Steve Cooper is available and on the market after he was recently dismissed by Leicester

PA

Steve Cooper was recently sacked as Leicester manager, having struggled to get the Foxes fully firing.

He is, however, a man with a big reputation given everything he achieved during his time at Nottingham Forest.

Cooper may not be ready to return to management just yet given his difficult time at the King Power Stadium.

Known for playing attacking football, however, he's another man who can't be entirely ruled out.
