Arne Slot was sent off in the aftermath of the Merseyside derby against Everton

The Football Association has revealed the X-rated comments made by Liverpool manager Arne Slot to referee Michael Oliver that led to his red card after the 2-2 Merseyside derby draw against Everton.

Slot was handed a two-match touchline ban and fined £70,000 following the heated exchange at Goodison Park last month.

The incident occurred just moments after James Tarkowski netted Everton's 98th-minute equaliser in what was a fiery conclusion to the match.

According to the FA's written reasons, Slot approached Oliver after the full-time whistle in a "confrontational and aggressive" manner.

The Liverpool boss shook the referee's hand while allegedly saying Oliver had "f***ing give them everything".

Slot also reportedly told the official that he hoped Oliver "was proud of that performance".

The FA report stated: "Tensions were running high" as the Dutchman entered the field to confront the match officials.

After initially walking away, Slot approached Oliver again approximately one minute later.

During this second confrontation, the Liverpool manager allegedly told the referee: "If we don't win the league, I'll f***ing blame you."

Slot then turned to the assistant referee and twice shouted that it was "a f** disgrace".

It was this conduct that ultimately led to Oliver showing the Dutchman a red card.

The incident came in the immediate aftermath of Tarkowski's dramatic late equaliser for Everton.

While Slot admitted the charge, he disputed the exact language used in the confrontation.

According to the FA's written reasons, the Liverpool manager claimed he actually said: "if we don't win the league, I will have you to thank for that".

The FA maintained that Slot's words were as reported by the match officials.

However, they noted this discrepancy "didn't make a material difference to the sanction" as the words still constituted improper conduct.

The FA added: "It should be noted that AS does not dispute stating 'f***ing disgrace' to the Assistant Referee."

Liverpool assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff was also dismissed during the incident.

The FA report revealed Hulshoff approached the referee in an "extremely aggressive manner".

He allegedly called Oliver's performance "f***ing s***" and echoed Slot's assertion that Everton had been "given everything".

Both Slot and Hulshoff received two-match touchline bans following the confrontation.

The incident occurred during what was the last ever Merseyside derby to be played at Goodison Park, with Everton set to move to a new stadium.
