West Ham will, it seems, be replacing David Moyes with Julen Lopetegui at the end of the season.
Widespread reports say the Spaniard has verbally agreed to take over at the London Stadium, having been out of work since leaving Wolves last year.
It comes just days after West Ham were hammered by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues cruising to victory on a positive day at the office for Mauricio Pochettino's side.
There's no denying that this season has been a disappointment for the east London side. A step back, rather than one forward.

West Ham have fallen to ninth in the Premier League table, with fans previously dreaming of a sudden surge into the Champions League.
They are winless in their last six matches across all competitions and also recently saw their Europa League adventure ended by Xabi Alonso's superb Bayer Leverkusen side.
And while they've been linked with Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim, it's Lopetegui who now seems destined to take charge.
For some West Ham fans, changing managers is a cause for celebration.
Moyes' popularity has dwindled over the course of the campaign and there's a sense that, for all his achievements in the game, he's now beginning to look like a man out of time.
But West Ham should be careful what they wish for. The grass, after all, isn't always greener.
Lopetegui is a good coach and has Real Madrid, Spain and Sevilla all on his CV. All three are big jobs and proof of his credentials as he prepares to return to management.
Yet Moyes has built his West Ham empire with patience and perseverance.
Lopetegui never seems to hang around for too long. He has had four jobs in eight years, while he lasted just 27 matches while in charge of Wolves.
Stability, for a club like West Ham, is vital.
It's about trusting the process. Closing the gap on the Premier League elite, on a limited budget, is no easy task.
Neither is keeping the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta, with the pair set to attract interest from potential suitors due to their dazzling form in the capital this season.
Admittedly, at times, Moyes' style of play can be difficult to watch.
West Ham don't swashbuckle in the same way Bournemouth, who are currently behind them in 10th, do.
Even Brighton, Wolves and Fulham - who are all lower in the table than their rivals - are far more pleasing on the eye.

Yet football is about results. Recently aside, Moyes can't be faulted.
His second spell in the Hammers dugout started in December 2019, with the club sitting in 17th - just a point above the relegation zone.
He has since worked wonders, with the club consolidating their Premier League status during his tenure.

They have gone from fighting the drop to fighting for Europe, while Moyes also guided the club to UEFA Conference League glory last season - the club's first European trophy since 1999.
He will be a tough act to follow. And whether the decision to part ways pays off, or backfires spectacularly, remains to be seen.
