Wayne Rooney has opened up on being 'battered' by Sir Alex Ferguson during their time at Manchester United together.
The duo won five Premier League titles while working with each other at Old Trafford before the Scot announced his retirement in 2013.
It is an open secret, however, that they didn't always see eye-to-eye.
Rooney infamously went public with his desire to leave United back in 2010, having grown concerned about the direction of the club.

He would later end up performing a U-turn and signing a new contract, having been linked with Manchester City and Chelsea.
Then, in 2013, Ferguson revealed that Rooney had once again expressed a desire to leave.
He stayed put once again, playing under David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho before departing for a Hollywood homecoming to Everton in 2017.
Now, however, Rooney has revealed that one of his biggest clashes with Ferguson took place during a match against Portsmouth in the 2009-10 season.
The Red Devils were flat in the first half, with Rooney's opener cancelled out by a penalty from Kevin-Prince Boateng.
And despite scoring, the former England star has now told the BBC that Ferguson was unhappy with his performance.
"I got it a lot, yeah. When he went of course he was scary and intimidating," he said when asked about getting the 'hairdryer' treatment.
"At times deserved, at times not deserved. But I think he knew the right times to do it and he knew the effect it would have. Which normally for me was a positive effect on the pitch.

"There was a game which always sticks out. It was Portsmouth away, we were winning 1-0.
"I scored in the first half and he came in and he battered me. He just went at me and I felt it wasn't deserved.
"And I went back at him and probably went back a bit too far. It was a bit disrespectful.
"And he spoke to me after that. And made it clear that I can't speak to him like that.

"And then I went out and scored another two. So I scored a hat-trick in the game."
Rooney added: "It [patching up] was always after the game, it was on the bus. This is where he was always brilliant.
"He'd be sat on the bus and he'd walk past you and get a tea or a coffee.
"And he walks back past you, he'd give you a little slap on the head and that was his way of saying it's forgot about.
