"I was like, 'Mel Gibson is f*****g 80'!"
Gibson is actually 69 but Keane's comments prompted laughter, while Rooney chimed in to say: "That's better than Shrek anyway."
It has been an ongoing joke for years and, back in September, the origins were finally revealed.
Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that it was he who had first started calling Rooney 'Shrek' when the duo were team-mates at Old Trafford.

Several other nicknames for players were also revealed.

Ferdinand said that Anderson, the former Brazil international, was known as 'J-Lo' or 'Beyonce' because his team-mates thought he had a 'bum' on him.
Nani was known as 'Naanbread', while Paul Scholes was named 'ginger' (for obvious reasons) or 'SatNav' due to his stunning passing skills.
Meanwhile, Rooney is currently out of work after leaving his position as Plymouth manager.
He has struggled in the dugout so far but the 39-year-old remains keen to stay in management, despite the struggles he's faced.
