Wayne Rooney is set to take a central role in his family's upcoming Disney+ reality show as part of a £10million deal recently secured by his wife Coleen.
The football legend has agreed to feature prominently in the programme, with Disney executives believing his presence will significantly boost ratings.
A source revealed: "Wayne will be a big part of the show - and he is one of the main reasons why Disney were prepared to pay so much money to secure the rights."
The former England captain, 39, has assured Coleen he will do whatever it takes to make the show a success.

"He's agreed to be a big part of the programme and is looking forward to it," the source explained.
"Wayne is a lot funnier than people think and producers believe viewers will love seeing how he and Coleen interact and lead their lives."
The streaming giant outbid competitors including Amazon Prime Video for the rights to film with the Rooneys.
The decision to feature Wayne prominently reflects Disney's confidence in the former Manchester United star's appeal beyond the football pitch.
His authentic personality is expected to resonate with British audiences who have followed his career for decades.
"Viewers will see Wayne and Coleen doing all the normal things that any couple do - the school-run, the shopping and sorting out the kids," the insider revealed.
"The programme will also provide a snapshot into the very glamorous life they enjoy too," the source added.
This dual approach aims to showcase both the relatable and aspirational aspects of the Rooneys' family life.
The format follows the successful "at-home-with" style that has proven popular with British audiences in recent years.
Coleen, who was runner-up on last year's I'm A Celebrity, is reportedly thrilled with the deal.

"She's delighted and hugely excited," according to the source. "She's buzzing about it and has wanted to do it for a while."
Her stint in the jungle appears to have been pivotal in securing this opportunity.
"Going on I'm A Celeb has been the perfect springboard," the insider explained.
The show will feature the couple's £20million Cheshire mansion and their four sons: Kai, 14, Kit, 11, Klay, eight, and Cass, six.

InstagramColeen reportedly hopes to challenge misconceptions about her lifestyle.
"She's often portrayed as someone who spends half her life on holiday when, in fact, her entire life revolves around her family and her work."
The £10million deal will see Coleen receive approximately £5million, with the remaining £5million going to production company Lorton Entertainment.
The firm previously produced "Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story," which documented her high-profile legal battle with Rebekah Vardy.
