Virgil van Dijk has signed a new contract with Liverpool, with the Dutchman ending the uncertainty over his future by putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.
The Netherlands international had been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with his previous deal due to expire at the end of the season.
But Van Dijk won't be going anywhere, with Liverpool confirming that the 33-year-old has committed his future to the club, as exclusively revealed by GB News last week.
A statement on their website read: "Virgil van Dijk has today signed a new contract with Liverpool FC to extend his time with the club beyond the 2024-25 season.

"The captain put pen to paper on the deal to ensure his association with the Reds will continue into the forthcoming campaigns, almost seven-and-a-half years after he initially arrived at Anfield.
"The news follows on from Mohamed Salah also agreeing fresh terms with the club last week."
Van Dijk, speaking to club media, admitted he was delighted at extending his stay on Merseyside.
“I’m very happy, very proud,” said the Reds skipper.

“There are so many emotions obviously that go through my head right now speaking about it.
“It’s a proud feeling, it’s a feeling of joy. It’s just incredible.
"The journey I’ve had so far in my career, to be able to extend it with another two years at this club is amazing and I’m so happy.”
Van Dijk then insisted that he never considered leaving Liverpool behind, despite speculation linking him with a move to France.

“It was always Liverpool. That was the case," he added.
"It was always in my head, it was always the plan and it was always Liverpool.
“There wasn’t any doubt in my head that this is the place to be for me and my family. I’m one of Liverpool.
"Someone called me the other day an adopted Scouser – I’m really proud to hear these things, it gives me a great feeling.”

Van Dijk joined Liverpool back in the January transfer window of 2018 after establishing himself in English football at Celtic and Southampton.
The defender made an instant impact in his new surroundings, with the Reds reaching the final of the Champions League that year before losing to Real Madrid.
Van Dijk tasted success in the competition 12 months later, however, with Tottenham beaten 2-0 in the final.
In 2020, the centre-back won his first Premier League title with Liverpool. Given they're on the cusp of glory again, he'll soon be celebrating his second.
