Tottenham conceded after just 57 seconds against Aston Villa on Sunday

Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky endured a nightmare start in Sunday's FA Cup clash with Aston Villa, conceding after just 57 seconds.

The 21-year-old shot-stopper let Jacob Ramsey's effort slip through his hands to give Villa an early lead at Villa Park.

The shot came straight at Kinsky from around 15 yards out, but the Czech goalkeeper was unable to make what appeared to be a routine save.

BBC Sport commentator Alan Shearer did not hold back in his criticism of the error.

"An absolute howler from the goalkeeper," the Newcastle United legend said on commentary. "I don't need to see it again."

"What on earth is he doing?" Shearer questioned, adding that while Ramsey's shot had power, "the keeper should be doing much better."

The former striker was particularly critical of how a straight shot at the goalkeeper had managed to find the back of the net.

The goal came after Morgan Rogers found space in the middle of the park, driving forward unchallenged.

Rogers, operating in the number 10 position, was left unmarked as he advanced through midfield.

"No-one marking him, the touch, he drives his team forwards," Shearer noted in his commentary.

The Villa midfielder then slotted the ball through to Ramsey, who found himself with a clear sight of goal in the Tottenham defence.

Despite his early error, Kinsky showed resilience by making several important saves in the first half.

The Tottenham goalkeeper denied both Leon Bailey and Morgan Rogers as he worked to make amends for his mistake.

Kinsky, who joined from Slavia Prague, had previously impressed in his debut against Liverpool, making six saves in a 1-0 Carabao Cup victory in early January.

The Czech keeper has experienced mixed fortunes since his arrival, having also featured in the recent 4-0 Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Liverpool.

The FA Cup clash came at a difficult time for Ange Postecoglou's side, following their recent cup disappointment.

Spurs entered the match looking to bounce back from an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final just days earlier.

The defensive errors that proved costly at Anfield appeared to resurface quickly against Villa.

The London club now face the prospect of being eliminated from a second cup competition within a week.
