The German will oversee tonight's match at Wembley as he targets a winning start

Thomas Tuchel is the man of the moment, with the England boss set to oversee his first match since replacing Gareth Southgate when the Three Lions lock horns with Albania in tonight's World Cup qualifier at Wembley.

Southgate walked away after the European Championships last summer, with Lee Carsley initially named as a temporary replacement.

Back in October, after being linked with the likes of Eddie Howe and Joachim Lowe, the FA confirmed that Tuchel had been given the keys to Wembley.

The 51-year-old is a serial winner, having scooped silverware during spells with the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund throughout his career.

But managing England represents a drastically different challenge, with Tuchel new to the international scene.

The Three Lions boss will be paid around £8million annually after agreeing a bumper deal to replacement Southgate five months ago.

And that will likely see his already high net worth go up in the coming years ahead.

According to Finance Monthly, Tuchel is worth around £39million - having enjoyed a career as both a footballer and a manager.

Tuchel, as a player, started off at his local club in Germany, TSV Krumbach, who were coached by his father, Rudolf.

He was once hopeful of playing for FC Augsburg, only to be released by the German side at the age of 19.

Tuchel eventually moved to SSV Ulm in 1995. However, he was forced to retire just three years later after suffering a serious knee cartilage injury.

For a while, his time in football seemed to be over.
