Manchester United had two concerns about appointing Thomas Tuchel before he took the England job, GB News can exclusively reveal.
The German recently agreed to take charge of the Three Lions, having been regularly linked with the Red Devils.
On Monday, United decided to finally part ways with Erik ten Hag - months after they'd talked with Tuchel about potentially taking charge.
Ruben Amorim is now expected to be the next manager of the club, with the 39-year-old locked in talks about replacing Ten Hag.

It can now be revealed that, when it comes to Tuchel, United have nothing but admiration for everything he's achieved throughout his career.
The new England boss is a serial winner having won trophies with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund over the years.
But United weren't sure whether Tuchel would fit into their new structure and focus, for the most part, solely on coaching.
They were aware that the 51-year-old is combative, having clashed with boards at Bayern, Chelsea and PSG in the past.

As a result, United weren't as keen on Tuchel as many other reports claimed.
A source has also told GB News that there are concerns about whether the German is in his prime as a manager.
United have gone for experienced, big names such as Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho in the past - but both were managers on the wane.
Van Gaal was 62 when he took charge in 2014. Though he'd won trophies with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Ajax, modern football had moved on by the time he arrived.

The same can be said for Mourinho, too.
Though he won the Premier League title a year before his move to United, his defensive tactics were starting to become predictable and stale.
With regards to Tuchel, at least one United insider feels he may have taken a job in international management due to the stresses club management entails.
There is, for example, scrutiny every week. With England, that won't be the case given they only play a couple of times every few months.

Tuchel did win the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 but never got close to claiming Premier League glory.
He was axed by the Blues after they lost three of their first six league games of the 2022/23 season.
Tuchel's time at Bayern didn't live up to expectations, either. They were fortunate to win the Bundesliga in 2023, with rivals Borussia Dortmund slipping up, and his team were comprehensively beaten to title glory by Bayer Leverkusen last term.
As things stand, all signs point to Amorim being United's next manager.
