The German will be hoping to win his first match in charge of the Three Lions

Thomas Tuchel is reportedly set to name Kyle Walker in his starting XI as England prepare to face Albania tonight.

The German is currently gearing up for his first match in charge of the Three Lions, having been named Gareth Southgate's permanent replacement back in October.

Walker struggled for Manchester City at the start of the season before joining AC Milan in January.

The right-back is a Premier League legend but, at the age of 34, is starting to show signs of waning.

According to the Daily Mail, however, Tuchel is set to name Walker in his squad for his first match as England head coach.

There are currently three right-backs in the squad, with Walker, Newcastle's Tino Livramento and Chelsea's Reece James all in the fold.

However, Tuchel is ready to go with Walker as the 51-year-old seeks a winning start to his tenure.

The report also says that Marc Guehi, who became a regular during Lee Carsley's spell as interim boss, is set to be named on the bench.

Levi Colwill and Ezri Konsa will instead partner up at the back, while it's been suggested Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice will be deployed in midfield.

England haven't won a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup.

They went close under Southgate, making finals of Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.

England have notoriously underperformed over the years, despite boasting some of the best players in the world.

But Tuchel wants his players to play without fear as they look to end so many years of hurt.

"I want that when the opponents come out and see our team lined up in the tunnel that they know, oofff, this is going to be tough, they will give us a hard time, these guys are individually good, they play in the best clubs but, oofff, these guys, they seem to be close friends, they seem to be ready to die for each other, this is going to be a tough time," he said.

"You can be sure that if I say something in a press conference, I have addressed it to the players.

"The players know my assessment (of Euro 2024) but it's not even addressed backwards.

"It's addressed 'what I want now'. The message is up front.

"I felt they were holding back - the group did not play with enough excitement and togetherness to make it happen."

Tuchel has also revealed he won't get involved in 'political' matters, too.

“I think we have the best chance [of winning matches] when you allow the head coach to focus on football," he said.

“I understand from your perspective maybe the importance of the role.

"But maybe I can hide a little bit behind being not English and not talk to everything that happens in your country out of respect and focus a little bit more on football.”
