The two teams meet in the third round of the competition on Sunday

The FA Cup match against Tamworth and Tottenham on Sunday suffered a brief delay to kick off due to a net falling down.

All eyes are on the The Lamb Ground in what promises to be one of the most intriguing showdowns of the competition.

As the players prepare to kick off, however, the match was delayed.

This was due to the net falling down on the left side of the pitch, with both Tamworth players and staff members working to resolve it.

The net was eventually fixed and, after a five-minute delay, James Maddison was able to proceed with the kick off as normal.

Tamworth fans were seen heckling Ange Postecoglou while the problem was resolved - but the Australian didn't seem too fazed.

Instead, he pretended to conduct as chants of 'w****r' were head ringing out around the ground.

Tottenham, given they're a Premier League club, are strong favourites to go through to the fourth round.

Spurs have gone strong for the match, with Maddison, Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson among the A-listers selected for action.

And Postecoglou lived up to his word with his team selection, having said in his pre-match press conference that his side would 'respect' Tamworth on such a big occasion for the minnows.

"I’ve got no doubt of the attitude of the players," he said.

"We understand every game is important. We’ll certainly go into Sunday’s game with the same mindset. There’s always challenges out there.

"There’s a fair difference in terms of the levels of football we’re playing with, but I’m sure Tamworth see it as a great opportunity for themselves.

"There’s always great storylines with [the FA Cup].

"I still think FA Cup Final day is still one of the marquee days in the global football calendar.”

The former Celtic boss was also asked how his 'multi-million-pound-players' would fare on Tamworth's 3G pitch.

He responded by saying: "They’re actually not multi-million-dollar players. They’re human beings.

"They’re very understanding. They’re good people. Most have come from players like that, some worse.

"They’ll go there and respect that Tamworth are gearing up for probably the biggest game of their lives."

Tottenham haven't won the FA Cup since 1991.

They've endured a difficult season so far but have still managed to make the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, despite facing injury issues.

Tottenham beat Liverpool in the first leg of their semi-final clash in that competition on Wednesday, with Postecoglou's side winning 1-0 to boost their chances of making the final.
