Steve Bruce's grandson, Madison, has tragically died at the age of four months

Steve Bruce, the recently appointed head coach of Blackpool, will not be in attendance for the club's upcoming match against Barnsley.

The 63-year-old's absence is due to the tragic passing of his four-month-old grandson, Madison.

Blackpool confirmed the news in an official statement, expressing their condolences to Bruce and his family during this difficult time.

The former Manchester United defender took charge of the Seasiders last month, replacing Neil Critchley at the helm.

Since his appointment, Bruce has made a strong start in League One, guiding the team to 10th place in the table.

Bruce's impressive start at Blackpool has not gone unnoticed. He was awarded the League One Manager of the Month for September, a testament to his immediate impact at the club.
