Southampton boss Russell Martin has explained that he had "absolutely no interest in saying hello" to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after his side's win over Plymouth on Friday.
Southampton have been in sensational form in the Championship this year and stretched their unbeaten record to 17 straight league games with their 2-1 win over Plymouth.
Goals from Carlos Alcaraz and Che Adams were enough for the Saints to keep hold of third in the table and move within three points of Ipswich.
Sunak, who has often spoken about his love for the Saints, was pictured in the stands to watch the game on Friday night.

Sunak posed for pictures with Southampton mascots and spent time talking with fans before he took his seat.
And he was all smiles in the match as he watched the Saints pick up another win.
However, the Prime Minister doesn't appear to be welcome in Southampton's dressing room while Martin remains in charge.
The Saints boss was asked after the match whether Sunak had made his way down to meet the players and staff.
But Martin gave a brutal response to the question, explaining: "I have absolutely no interest in saying hello".
The Southampton boss added that he didn't know whether Sunak had come down without him being there.
Martin was asked about his remarks later on where he was less direct and claimed his initial comments were a "joke".
He added: "I just made a joke on BBC that I had no interest (in saying hello to Sunak).
