Sky Sports were forced to apologise after the word 's**t' was broadcasted during Harry Kane's press conference at Euro 2024 on Sunday.

The 30-year-old faced the media in Germany ahead of the Three Lions' clash with Slovenia, which will take place on Tuesday.

During the conference, a journalist asked Kane about recent comments from Gary Lineker.

The controversial BBC presenter had described the Three Lions' performance as 's**t' following their disappointing 1-1 draw with Denmark earlier in the week.

Sky was broadcasting when the word was heard live on air, with the broadcaster then apologising for the 'fruity language'.

Kane has responded to Lineker, insisting he has a 'responsibility' as a pundit while urging the former Tottenham star to get behind the team.

“I’d never want to be disrespectful about any player, especially one who's worn the shirt," he said.

“It’s very hard to not listen to it now.

“They’ve got to be honest but they also have a responsibility as an ex-player of knowing that people listen to their words.

“This country hasn’t won a lot for a long time and they were included in that too.

“They will remember what it’s like to wear the shirt.

"I’m sure they want us to win a major tournament and being a bit more positive would be a better way of going about it.”

England players are attempting to drown out any negative noise from outside as they look go all the way.

They have never won the European Championships, though came close three years ago when they made the final of the coronavirus-delayed Euro 2020.

Kane admits he must improve after a lethargic start to this summer's event.

But the Bayern star isn't too fazed by his recent dip in form and is convinced he'll come good.

“I try and stay away from it as much as possible but it’s impossible to not see some of the stuff nowadays," he added.

“Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion and when a major international tournament is on it’s going to be heightened.

“If I’m being honest, am I playing as well as I can? No.

“But I didn't score in group at World Cup in the group stages, so I’m one ahead already now.

“I don’t get too high, or too low, I just go onto the next one.”

Kane suffered a back injury that ruled him out of Bayern's final home game of the season.

But the former Premier League star insists he's fully fit despite concerns he may still be struggling.

“I spoke before the tournament, preparation was good for me leading up to it," explained the veteran.

“The first game, I felt as fit as I have all season. I came off in the second game but that's because the manager wanted to freshen up.

“I’m fit. You want to be coming into your peak towards the big games in the knockouts.

“You want to be close to feeling 100 per cent in the knockouts and that's where I think I am.”
