Sky Sports has been accused by fans of using pre-recorded audio during Liverpool's famous "You'll Never Walk Alone" anthem before Wednesday night's Merseyside derby.
Viewers watching the pre-match build-up at home claimed to have spotted a major gaffe by the broadcaster, though there is nothing to substantiate the claims.
Many fans took to social media suggesting Sky Sports had artificially enhanced the Anfield atmosphere by playing a pre-recorded version of the club's anthem.
The controversy erupted when viewers noticed that the broadcast sound appeared to be louder and out of sync with the visuals being shown.

Liverpool went on to secure a 1-0 win over their arch-rivals Everton thanks to Diogo Jota's second-half goal.
Several fans shared their observations on social media platform X.
"Have Sky Sports just outed themselves for playing YNWA over the actual crowd to make it sound louder?????" questioned one user.
Another viewer commented: "As if Sky Sports literally just changed the YNWA sound to make it sound better. Anyone else notice that or just me?"

"Hahaha Sky got the YNWA speakers wrong," claimed a third supporter.
The timing discrepancy between what was seen on screen and what was heard led to immediate speculation online.
Viewers were quick to suggest the broadcaster had used audio manipulation during the pre-match build-up.
One supporter directly accused the broadcaster of trying to improve the perceived atmosphere, writing: "Sky Sports proving Anfield does have a recording of the fans singing YNWA."
The controversy over the anthem's broadcast adds to ongoing discussions about the atmosphere at Liverpool's home ground this season.
Some supporters have previously expressed concerns about declining noise levels at certain fixtures.
The noise at Anfield only increased when Everton defender James Tarkowski was involved in a controversial incident early in the match.

Tarkowski caught Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister with what was described as a "leg breaker" challenge.
Sky Sports' studio pundits Jamie Carragher and Duncan Ferguson both believed Tarkowski should have been sent off.
The referee opted to show only a yellow card, however.
