Sir Jim Ratcliffe has warned he would walk away from Manchester United if he faces the same level of abuse as the Glazer family.
The Ineos chief made the stark admission as he defended cost-cutting measures at the club.
"If it reached the extent that the Glazer family have been abused, then I'd have to say, look, enough's enough guys," Ratcliffe told The Times.
Ratcliffe took over at Old Trafford in February 2024, pledging to take United to the "top of world football" after buying a minority stake.

Since then, however, he has been forced to implement significant cost-cutting measures.
Fans have recently protested against his ownership ahead of the 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
Supporters have criticised Ratcliffe's brutal balancing of the books at United.
These cuts included a swathe of redundancies, increased ticket prices and the removal of Sir Alex Ferguson as a club ambassador.

Ratcliffe has defended these measures, claiming last week that the club would have "run out of money by Christmas" if he hadn't stepped in.
The British billionaire admits being in the storm of fan unease hasn't been enjoyable.
"It can be unpleasant. And I've probably failed on the having fun front," he said.
He explained he couldn't tolerate abuse at the level the Glazers experienced.
"It would defeat the object, wouldn't it? You couldn't tolerate it at that level, it just wouldn't be fun."
Surprisingly, Ratcliffe refused to criticise the Glazers, who have held a stake in United since 2005.

United have already faced Leicester three times this season.
They won their first meeting in October, with the fallen giants winning 5-2 following braces from Casemiro and Alejandro Garnacho.
United proceeded to thump the Foxes 3-0 the following month.
And they won their last meeting back in January, with Harry Maguire scoring a late header to fire the Red Devils into the fourth round.
