Sir Jim Ratcliffe is supportive of Ruben Amorim's decision to drop both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho for Manchester United's enthralling 2-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday.
The Red Devils pair were left out of the squad entirely, with Amorim later explaining that he's decided to cut them due to a desire to maintain high standards.
The call ended up paying off, with United beating City following late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo.
Diallo was the best player on the pitch, with the Ivory Coast international continuing to shine following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag last month.

Ratcliffe, as well as Jason Wilcox and Sir Dave Brailsford, were all present as United beat City.
And journalist Graeme Bailey, speaking to Unitedinfocus, has claimed INEOS chiefs are satisfied with Amorim's handling of the pair.
He said: “I am told the club has no issues with Amorim’s handling of the situation.
“He has made it clear to both that he hasn’t liked the attitude that either has shown and he has chosen this moment to make it clear to the squad as a whole what he expects.

“Amorim has certain levels and any player wanting to play for him has to hit certain levels of professionalism, attitude and commitment.”
It will, however, be fascinating to see when the pair return.
Rashford has blown hot and cold for United over the past 18 months, ever since netting 30 goals across all competitions in the 2022/23 season.
And reports have suggested he could be cut loose when the transfer window reopens in January.
As for Garnacho, the winger has long been seen as one of United's brightest prospects for the future.
The club have insisted the decision to leave him out of the squad for the win over City has nothing to do with speculation that he and his brother are leaking team line-ups before matches.
Games are coming thick and fast for the Red Devils now it's the festive period.
United are next in action against Tottenham in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, Gary Neville believes Amorim made the right call to drop two 'moping' players - and says United have tolerated mediocrity for too long.
“I don’t know about their long term future,” he said. “But what is really clear is that [Amorim] mentioned engaging with team-mates, he’s mentioned standards.
“He’s giving us clues, in fact, emphatic clues, about the last few days that they’re moping and not doing their bit around the training ground.

“For far too long we’ve seen players mope around that pitch and still continue to get a game or on the bench. No. It’s got to be non-negotiable. If you don’t give your all in your job, you’re gone, you’re out. That’s it.”
