Real Madrid's teenage sensation Endrick could be set for a shock January loan move to Premier League strugglers Southampton.
The 18-year-old Brazilian, who joined Los Blancos in a deal worth over £50 million, has found playing time limited at the Bernabeu since his summer arrival.
Despite scoring twice this season, Endrick has played just 123 minutes across all competitions for the Spanish giants.
Southampton are among three clubs vying for the forward's signature, with Serie A side Roma and Spanish outfit Real Valladolid also in the running for a potential loan deal.
At Real Madrid, Endrick has made just one start across all competitions, which came in a 1-0 defeat to Lille.
The Brazilian international has been limited to nine substitute appearances under Carlo Ancelotti, though he has managed to find the net against Real Valladolid and Stuttgart.
His lack of playing time has already impacted his international career, with Brazil manager Dorival Junior dropping him from November's squad.
The teenager's situation has raised eyebrows, particularly given his impressive record of 13 caps for Brazil and a memorable goal against England at Wembley in March.
Southampton's interest comes as Russell Martin's side sit bottom of the Premier League after 11 matches, having scored just seven goals.
According to Sport, Roma are considered favourites to secure Endrick's services, with manager Claudio Ranieri specifically requesting young attacking reinforcements.
Real Valladolid have reportedly made direct contact with the player in an attempt to convince him to join their ranks.
The Saints' possession-based style under Martin could appeal to Real Madrid, who may see benefits in Endrick developing in a system similar to their own.
However, joining a club at the foot of the Premier League table may not be Endrick's preferred choice.
The competition for minutes at Real Madrid is particularly fierce, with Endrick facing an all-star attacking lineup.

England star Jude Bellingham, Ballon d'Or runner-up Vinicius Junior and former PSG forward Kylian Mbappe currently block his path to regular football.
While both Real Madrid and Endrick were prepared for limited opportunities initially, there are growing concerns about his development stalling.

The Brazilian is reportedly willing to fight for his place at the Bernabeu, though the club may view a loan move as beneficial for his progress.
Real Madrid, having invested heavily with a six-year contract, will be cautious about choosing the right destination if they sanction a loan.
