The Denmark international is a player operating at the peak of his powers

Rasmus Hojlund became the youngest player in Premier League history to score in six successive matches with his first goal for Manchester United against Luton on Sunday.

The Denmark international took a while to adjust to life at Old Trafford following his huge move from Atalanta back in the summer.

But Hojlund has now rediscovered his mojo and put United in front against Luton inside the first minute.

The 21-year-old finished emphatically after a mistake from Amari'i Bell, rounding goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski in the process.

Hojlund has since struck again to double United's advantage.

And his goals mean he's now become the youngest player in Premier League history to net in six matches in a row at the age of just 21 and 14 days.

The record was previously held by Joe Willock, who was 21 and 272 days old when he bagged in six games in 2021.

Erling Haaland, Romelu Lukaku and Thierry Henry make the list as well.

And fans on social media have lavished praise on Hojlund with the United star now delivering for the Red Devils in every game he plays.

"The best striker in the world right now," said one user.

A second stated: "He's the 'Haaland' of this season. He's on fire."

A third said: "Bros been cooking every since Sean Mills went to Manchester."

A fourth hailed Hojlund by saying: "HOJLUND ALREADY!?!?!? BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD."

And a fifth said: "This boy needed time love his spirit."

Speaking before the game, meanwhile, United boss Erik ten Hag opened up on his side's recent improvement.

However, the Dutchman also made it clear he feels his side must do more if they're to secure a place in next season's Champions League.

“I think it’s too quick to say we have turned a corner,” Ten Hag said.

“We are not there yet, we are still not in a position to say so.

“We are back in the race, but not in the position we want to be at this club – that is a minimum of the top four, so we have to catch up and we are still doing that.

"But I do think that now we are going in the right direction.

“I was always convinced we would once the players were available.

"With this squad I knew – that with me and my coaching staff and players, and the togetherness, we have the quality to play for the top four.

"Of course over the season we had to prove it – but I was always convinced we would.”

Ten Hag has also placed his faith in youth, building around players such as Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Explaining why, he added: “It is about trust – the manager trusts the staff with their eye on the potential of the player so that did not surprise us.

“But of course they have to prove it – that’s the other thing, and something that goes with everyone in top sport – you have to prove it.

“I think we still have in our squad those players who can make the bigger steps like Kobbie and Garnacho have made in the last couple of months.”
