A Paris Saint-Germain supporter deployed an extraordinary tactic to help his team triumph in Tuesday night's Champions League penalty shootout at Anfield.

The innovative fan used a megaphone to blast siren noises behind the goal during Liverpool's penalties.


The unusual distraction technique may have contributed to Liverpool's downfall as they crashed out of the competition.

Two Liverpool players saw their penalty efforts saved as PSG advanced to the quarter-finals of the tournament, with Luis Enrique's side looking to win it for the first time in their history.

The incident has sparked debate among football fans watching the dramatic shootout, with many left amused.

And even Paddy Power got in on the act, with the bookies saying: "PSG should give that guy with the megaphone a statue outside the Parc des Princes."
