Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is making efforts to reconcile with his wife Cristina Serra following their separation in January.
The couple, who have been together for more than three decades, split earlier this year after Guardiola extended his contract with the Premier League champions.
Sources indicate that a focused effort to mend their strained relationship is now underway.
The news of their reconciliation attempts comes just months after the shock announcement of their split, which surprised many in football circles.
Pep Guardiola and wife Cristina Serra met up over Easter and might have worked through their differences
GETTYGuardiola spent three days with Serra at their family home in Barcelona during the Easter holiday, according to reports.
The City boss is now planning to utilise a private jet to facilitate weekly visits to Catalonia.
"He's saying he could be in Manchester and come see her on a private plane in Barcelona once a week, then leave again," Maria Lapiedra told EN Blau VIP.
This arrangement aims to prevent the couple from going weeks without seeing each other whilst Guardiola fulfils his responsibilities at the Etihad.
The separation reportedly occurred after Guardiola made the unexpected decision to renew his contract with Manchester City without consulting his wife.
"She wanted to separate because he secretly renewed his contract without speaking to Cristina, but Pep wants to stay with her," Lapiedra revealed.
Serra had returned to Barcelona in 2019 with their youngest child to focus on her fashion business interests.
She was reportedly dismayed upon learning of Guardiola's decision to remain in England until 2027, which prompted her to ask for a split in their marriage.
Guardiola and Serra first met in 1994 whilst the Spaniard was modelling for designer Antonio Miro at Serra's family shop in Barcelona.

They have three children together: Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and Valentina, 17.
Despite living apart since 2019, the couple had maintained their relationship until December last year.
Serra's return to Spain was partly motivated by her desire to oversee her family's fashion company, Serra Claret.
