The veteran has penned a two-year extension with the Premier League leaders

Mohamed Salah has ended uncertainty over his Liverpool future by signing a two-year deal that will run until 2027.

The winger had been set to become a free agent this summer but has now decided to stay put and prolong his Anfield adventure.

Salah's new deal was announced by Liverpool on Friday morning. In a statement, they said: "Liverpool FC can announce Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract that will keep him with the club beyond the 2024-25 season.

"The forward, who is enjoying another stellar campaign for the Reds, has committed his future by putting pen to paper on the deal.

"So far this term, Salah has scored 32 goals in just 45 appearances in all competitions – 27 of which have come in the Premier League, making him the division’s leading marksman. These strikes have been supplemented by 22 assists for his teammates.

"And today’s news means Salah will extend an eight-year stay at Anfield into the future and continue to help Arne Slot’s team challenge for the game’s biggest honours."

Publicly, it's not currently known how much Salah will earn.

A recent report from The Sun, however, claimed that he was set to pocket a staggering £400,000 each week.

Salah had previously been on a wage of £350,000-a-week.

Yet he's secured a pay rise after a sensational season that has seen him net a remarkable 32 goals across all competitions.

When it comes to the Premier League's highest-earners, Salah is still substantially dwarfed by Manchester City hitman Erling Haaland.

Haaland signed a new deal with City earlier in the season, having sparkled ever since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to leave City at the end of the season, has been on £400,000-a-week since his last extension with the club in 2021.

Earning less than Salah is Manchester United star Casemiro, who takes home £350,000-a-week.

Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes are said to be earning £300,000 every seven days amid their exploits for City and United.

Salah, meanwhile, has opened up on his decision to stay at Liverpool.
