The Liverpool superstar was in fine form against Tottenham

Mohamed Salah made Premier League history in Liverpool's thrilling 6-3 victory over Tottenham on Sunday, becoming the first player to reach double figures in both goals and assists this season.

The Egyptian star delivered a masterclass performance in north London, contributing two goals and two assists as Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the table.

Salah's remarkable achievement sees him with 15 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League campaign thus far, highlighting his continued importance to Liverpool's title challenge.

The 32-year-old forward was at the heart of Liverpool's lethal attack, orchestrating a dominant display that saw the Reds run riot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Salah's impact on the match began with setting up Dominik Szoboszlai's goal before half-time, making it 3-1 to Liverpool after earlier strikes from Luis Diaz and Alexis Mac Allister.

The forward then added two goals of his own in the second half, first tapping in from close range after Cody Gakpo's pass in the 54th minute.

Just seven minutes later, Salah netted his second, finishing from close range following Szoboszlai's assist.

His creative influence continued throughout the match, with one of his assists coming from an inch-perfect pass to Luis Diaz, who scored Liverpool's sixth goal.

The performance showcased Salah's complete attacking prowess, with his involvement in four of Liverpool's six goals proving decisive in the high-scoring encounter.

The historic performance also saw Salah move into fourth place on Liverpool's all-time scoring list, surpassing Billy Liddell's tally of 228 goals.

Liddell, the legendary Scot who played for Liverpool between 1938 and 1961, was such a dominant figure that the club became known as 'Liddellpool' during his career.

Salah's brace against Tottenham took his total to 229 goals, cementing his place in Liverpool's history books.

The Egyptian now trails only three players in Liverpool's scoring charts: Gordon Hodgson with 241 goals, Roger Hunt with 285, and Ian Rush leading with an impressive 346 goals.

This latest milestone adds to Salah's growing legacy at Anfield, where he continues to break records in his sixth season with the club.

Liverpool's commanding victory moved them four points clear at the top of the Premier League table, taking advantage of Chelsea's goalless draw at Everton earlier in the day.

The Reds have been in exceptional form since Arne Slot's arrival from Feyenoord, winning 21 of their 25 matches across all competitions this season.

With a game in hand over Chelsea, Liverpool's position as title favourites has been strengthened heading into the Christmas period.

The result left Tottenham struggling in 11th place, marking the first time in a decade they had conceded five or more goals at home in a Premier League match.

The pressure continues to mount on Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou, with this being their eighth league defeat of the season.
